OVERVIEW

What:

 1) A series of online courses on conversational American-English for non-Americans who already read and write English

 2) The courses would be 90 days long and would consist of 72 hours total , half of which would be self-study and half in online face to face conversation with an American teacher

 3) The courses would be on different subjects like business in America, sports, pop culture, etc. and be formatted as a conversation which would include normal personal conversation between teacher and student

 The Goal:

 To provide non-Americans with a method to learn how to speak and think more American that is more affordable than studying in the U.S. or learning from an American teacher in their countries

 Major Components:

   1) The courses

   2) The teachers

  3) The technology

  4) The students

  5) The marketing for teachers and students

  6) The administration

Thoughts on The Major Components:

 1) the courses – the courses would have to consider the student's area of interest and level of accent, the idea being for the student to sound more like Stephen Colbert than Ricky Ricardo ...both Americans.

 The courses should also reflect American values...we don't want to forget the 'Think' American part.

 2) The teachers – there are now close to 80,000,000 Americans with a broadband internet connection, there may be many more who could have broadband if they wish. 

There are 8,000 or so Americans turning 60 everyday...many of who are well educated and savvy in many ways and about many subjects and some 40% continue to work in addition there are many other Americans that would rather work from home than commute to a job.

 3) The technology - Skype allows for both voice and near real time video, teachers and student would both need the equipment and ability to connect.

4) The students - students would be business people or others who want to SpeakNThink American so they can better fit in and understand what and why things are said by Americans.

 5) The marketing for teachers and students - a multi-level approach for the teachers who in turn would recruit other teachers (home-based remote agents).

 An internet marketing approach for students.

 In many multi-level marketing models Area Managers recruit and train but the training could be done on a state or national level. 

6) The Administration – there would be a need for a CEO and support staff to handle the business side of things.

  General Thoughts;

America is and will remain the main actor on the world stage for some time to come and people around the world will keep coming here for any number of reasons and many want to fit in better. 

 The Idea:

An internet based service that...

1) allows American to earn $20 plus an hour working from home

2) exports American cultural understanding and import money

3) creates a better understanding and friendship among Americans and others in the world

4) makes a bunch of money

 For a $1500 fee English reading and speaking non-Americans would receive a 90 day conversational on conversational  and cultural American including 36 hours ( three hours a week for 12 weeks) face to conversation with an American "teacher"
